Adriana Elizabeth

Adriana Elizabeth is here! She was born 11/27/2010 @ 7:47 am. She weighed 6 lbs and 5 oz. Jackson was 6 lbs and 4 oz when he was born. In a few different announcement settings, I have caught myself giving Jackson's birth weight instead of hers. They are very close! We absolutely love having beautiful Adriana at our house. She is an absolutely precious baby. She is very mild and does not cry much. She loves to eat, and was eating every hour or so after birth. At her very first feeding she was so hungry she sounded like a little piggy... snorting and carrying on. We were just laughing and enjoying her so much! She is very fun to have around.

Hairy Angel...
Adriana gave Jackson a present when he came to visit her.

Mom & Jackson's Day Out

Mom took the day off work, and spent the day with Jackson. We went to see "Keffin's Fire Trucks" at the South Salt Lake Fire Department. For lunch we got to go to Pizza Hut and each get a personal pizza. That was fun for Jackson to have his own little pizza. In the afternoon, we went to a craft class at Robert's Arts & Crafts. We stopped in at Mom's work for a minute, and Jackson got to use Mom's desk phone to call Dad. They chatted for a few minutes. Jackson loved to watch the printer, and the copier, and to use the phone. Then we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house for a visit. By that time, Dad was off work, and he met us there. Dad, Mom, and Jackson got to go out to eat at Olive Garden. Jackson had a really fun, but really long day and fell asleep on the way home.

Our Funny Little Girl

During the Ultra Sound, she would not hold still. She was absolutely everywhere! It was making me, David, and the Ultra Sound Tech laugh the whole time. This candid shot of her with her feet way up over her head is just one fine example of the poses we found her in. We sure are excited to meet her and see this little personality develop.

Our New Trees

We got two Emerald Queen Maples this week. David set out digging the hole, and Jackson had to go get his shovel to help out. He was a good boy putting the dirt in the wheel barrow. When it was time to plant the tree and fill the hole with water and dirt, Jackson had a front row seat... LITERALLY. He fell into the mud hole. David had to yank him out, but his shoes stayed behind. David was laughing as he had to fish out Jackson's little shoes.

Sunday Brownies

Jackson wanted some brownies; so we headed into the kitchen together to make some. I don't know how much he "helped" but we sure enjoyed making a mess together.

4th of July

The 4th of July was really fun. We got to go see the fireworks at Granite Highschool friday night. While we waited for the sun to go down, Jackson got to go in the bounce house and even go down a really tall slide. Also, cousin Cody gave Jackson a tour of the Fire Dept. Ambulance, and Uncle Kevin gave Jackson a tour of the Fire Truck. Uncle Kevin then invited Jackson, David, and I to ride in the Fire Truck for the parade the next day. Jackson loved to sing along with all the noises the fire truck made. We sure were spoiled.

Camping at Warm Springs

We went to visit 'Ranma and Papa Schaefermeyer in Mesquite for Memorial day weekend. They prepared a camping trip to warm springs. Jackson sure loved to see 'Rama and Papa and cousing Kaden. He recognized everybody and we often heard him saying "Hi Richard" or "Hi Kaden." He had fun catching bugs with Kaden and going down to the little stream. We went on fourwheeler rides--Jackson loves that!--and fun aunt Rachel had the fun treats and fun toys for the kids.

The Trellis That David Built

David made this trellis from scratch and our own design. For not having any formal instructions, and never having made one before... David did such a fantastic job! We are so proud of his work. Also featured is the strawberries we planted. One type of these is supposed to produce fruit as big as peaches. We are anticipating watching those grow. Lastly, but certainly not least are the peonies we obtained from David's parents, Guy and Ann. These plants have now been in the family for four generations.

Visit to Mesquite - Day 2

We headed up "in the hills" outside of Mesquite on our second day. We rode 4-wheelers, and Uncle Christopher even brought his dune buggie. Jackson was anxious for Uncle Christopher to take him for a ride.
